Center Action Fund Endorses Andy Levin for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District
BIRMINGHAM, Mich.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, announced today that it is endorsing Rep. Andy Levin in the Democratic primary in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
“Rep. Andy Levin has shown time and again that he is a steadfast champion of the environment and he truly believes we have a moral obligation to save life on earth,” said Kierán Suckling, president of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “From fighting deeply entrenched environmental injustices in Michigan to tackling the global climate crisis, Levin is exactly what Congress needs to ensure a safer, healthier planet for all.”
“As a lifelong environmentalist, it is an honor to have the support of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund and to take on the well-funded special interests that undermine the safety of our planet. I am committed to staying in Congress to keep fighting for a Green New Deal and to protect our one precious Earth and all of the creatures that call it home,” Levin said.
Levin is challenging Rep. Haley Stevens, a moderate Democrat who has failed to offer bold solutions to address the environmental crises the United States now faces. Rep. Stevens has not endorsed the Green New Deal resolution or legislation that declares the climate crisis to be a national emergency.
