Center Action Fund Endorses Attica Scott for Kentucky’s 3rd Congressional District

LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, announced today that it is endorsing state Rep. Attica Scott in the Democratic primary in Kentucky’s 3rd Congressional District.

“Attica Scott has a proven record of fighting for environmental justice and a stable climate in Kentucky,” said J.W. Glass, southeast political director at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “More than ever, we need environmental champions with lived experiences who aren’t afraid to offer bold solutions to solve the climate crisis. Congress needs fighters like Scott to ensure safe communities and a healthier environment for all.”

“I am deeply honored to have earned the endorsement of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund in my race for Congress,” Scott said. “Kentucky continues to experience the worst climate disasters and the worst impacts of polluted air, like in Rubbertown, and polluted water, like in Martin County. We deserve a fighter who will challenge environmental racism and champion environmental justice. In Congress, I will be that fighter.”

Scott is running against Morgan McGarvey, a state senator who has failed to meaningfully address climate change, promote environmental justice or support the Green New Deal resolutions introduced by Scott.

The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for legislation and legislators that will advance a progressive environmental agenda.
