Center Action Fund Endorses Bryan Osorio for California Senate District 16
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, announced today that it is endorsing Delano Mayor Bryan Osorio for California’s 16th Senate District.
“Bryan Osorio has been a bold and outspoken champion for communities and workers in the necessary transition away from fossil fuels,” said Jason Pfeifle, a campaigner at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “This is the kind of climate justice leadership we need in California’s state Senate.”
“I am so honored to have the support of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund,” said Osorio. “As a longtime advocate for environmental justice, I am committed to continuing the fight for a healthier environment in the California Senate.”
Osorio is running against Sen. Melissa Hurtado, a corporate Democrat who has failed to support solutions that are needed to address the environmental crises California faces. Hurtado has taken campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry and voted against a commonsense bill to clean up deserted oil wells that threaten the health of communities in the Central Valley.
The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for legislation and legislators that will advance a progressive environmental agenda. The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is the 501(c)(4) affiliate of the Center for Biological Diversity, but these organizations’ names are not interchangeable.
