Center Action Fund Endorses Jimmy Paulding for San Luis Obispo County Supervisor
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, announced today that it is endorsing Jimmy Paulding for San Luis Obispo County supervisor, District 4
“We’re proud to endorse Jimmy Paulding, a challenger who’s willing to seriously tackle the climate crisis,” said Jason Pfeifle, a campaigner at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “We need leaders on the board to fight polluters, protect our environment and move the county away from dirty fossil fuel production.”
“I am honored to be endorsed by the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund,” said Paulding. “I care deeply about protecting our environment, beaches, and natural resources here on the Central Coast, and I will continue to fight the good fight to protect them.”
Paulding is challenging Supervisor Lynn Compton, a Republican who has consistently defended the interests of polluting industries during her time on the board of supervisors. Despite concerns from her constituents about the Arroyo Grande oilfield and the urgent need to reduce fossil fuel production, Compton has pushed for expansion of this trouble-ridden oilfield, which threatens local groundwater.
She’s also pushed to delay closure of the dangerous Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant and opposed common-sense environmental protections like a ban on Styrofoam, a type of toxic trash that harms ecosystems and human health.
The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for legislation and legislators that will advance a progressive environmental agenda. The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is the 501(c)(4) affiliate of the Center for Biological Diversity, but these organizations’ names are not interchangeable.
