Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund Endorses California Climate Leaders for Primary

OAKLAND, Calif.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, today announced its endorsements of climate champions for the March primary in California.

The slate of candidates includes national, state and local leaders who are committed to fighting Big Oil and acting on the climate emergency and extinction crisis.

“We need courageous leaders at every level of government to use the powers of elected office to stand up to the oil and gas industry,” said Karuna Jaggar, California political director at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “For far too long, Big Oil has covered up the fact that the climate crisis is a fossil fuel crisis. Californians deserve public officials who will protect our communities and our wild places from corporate polluters.”

The full slate of climate champions endorsed by the Center Action Fund can be found on the website and includes:

Early voting starts Feb. 6 in California, where communities and wildlife are facing the harms of urban drilling and toxic refining, as well as climate disasters like wildfires and flooding.

“Last year was the hottest year ever and 2024 may be even worse,” Jaggar said. “With deadly wildfires, devastating floods and habitat destruction, California is on the frontlines. We need true champions up and down the ballot to stand up for communities and wildlife.”
