Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund Endorses Nevada Congressional Democrats In Critical 2024 Races
LAS VEGAS— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund today endorsed the slate of Nevada Democrats running for re-election to Congress.
Sen. Jacky Rosen and Reps. Dina Titus (NV-01), Susie Lee (NV-03) and Steven Horsford (NV-04) earned the endorsement of the environmental advocacy 501(c)4, which notes that their victories are crucial to securing a majority in Congress for bold climate action in 2025. The Center Action Fund previously endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
“President Harris will need solid majorities in both chambers of Congress so she can move swiftly to address the climate emergency and extinction crisis,” said Patrick Donnelly, Nevada political director at the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “It’s all hands on deck to ensure the climate deniers in the GOP don’t take full control of Congress and stymie President Harris’s agenda.”
Nevada’s congressional Democrats have championed climate action by voting for major federal investments in clean energy and pushing back on Republican attacks against America’s bedrock environmental laws.
Environmentalists have not always agreed with the actions of Sen. Rosen and Reps. Titus, Lee and Horsford. Their co-sponsorship of the Clark County lands bill, a public lands giveaway to developers, and votes in favor of sweetheart deals to the mining industry have caused concern among environmental voters in the past.
“We don’t always agree with Nevada congressional Democrats, but we know they’re the best possible option to secure majorities in Congress and usher in a new era of climate action,” said Donnelly. “We don’t just need to defeat Trump — we need to send the GOP packing after its attempts to gut climate action and the Endangered Species Act. Sen. Rosen and Reps. Titus, Lee and Horsford are Nevadans’ best chance to beat the climate crisis, and we’re urging our supporters to do everything they can to send them back to Washington this November.”
The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for legislation and legislators that will advance a progressive environmental agenda. The Action Fund is the 501(c)(4) affiliate of the Center for Biological Diversity, but these organizations’ names are not interchangeable.
