Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund Urges Vote for Adelita Grijalva in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District

TUCSON, Ariz.— The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, the 501(c)(4) political arm of the Center for Biological Diversity, is urging voters in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District to vote for Adelita Grijalva in Tuesday’s special primary election. The Center Action Fund endorsed Grijalva in June.

Adelita Grijalva is running to fill the seat of her father, Raúl Grijalva, who served in Congress for 23 years and passed away in March.

“With Trump and his puppets in Congress hellbent on selling off our public lands, dismantling protections for our most endangered animals and plants, and silencing the voices of frontline communities, we need a champion like Adelita Grijalva who’ll fight back against this reckless regime,” said Kierán Suckling, president of the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund. “Adelita Grijalva has been a leader in her community for years and has proven she’s willing to fight for all Arizonans. She’s exactly the type of person we need in Congress.”

As a Pima County supervisor, Adelita Grijalva advocated for her community by protecting environmentally sensitive and culturally significant sites as well as promoting green infrastructure that ensures resiliency in the face of climate change. She also helped steer investments in affordable housing and worked on open space protection in the Sonoran Desert.
